Interoperability for federal operations

P25IP (Project 25 to the power of IP) brings together the APCO P25 standards for public safety communications and the power of IP (Internet Protocol) technology. Using the Harris VIDA® (Voice, Interoperability, Data and Access) network, the Harris P25IP solution brings to users many of the choices inherent in modern IP-based networks. Harris Public Safety and Professional Communications offers conventional, trunked, and hybrid conventional and trunked systems in P25 Phase 1, easily software upgradable to P25 Phase 2.

Harris was awarded a four-year contract by General Dynamics C4 Systems to provide the LMR infrastructure for the first two regions of the Department of Justice Integrated Wireless Network (IWN) program.
"The Integrated Wireless Network (IWN) allows the Department to rapidly establish and implement a minimum operational baseline to achieve its strategic goals, while allowing for increased functionality when funding permits. The consolidated IWN approach leverages existing Agency radio sites wherever practical, while focusing on providing efficient, comparable coverage for ATF, DEA, FBI, and the USMS."
