Harris Corporation to Provide Saudi Arabia Ministry of Health with New Public Safety Communications System

MELBOURNE, FL/ROCHESTER, NY, June 7, 2012 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has received an order valued at more than $8 million to provide the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia with a public safety communications system to support emergency medical services (EMS) across the western region of the country. The order was received from Saudi Ericsson.

Harris will deliver a Harris P25 system, as well as mobile and portable radios. This system is based on the APCO P25 communication standard and will provide EMS personnel with secure, reliable voice and data communications.

The Harris P25 system leverages the power of the Harris VIDA(r) network, a unified internet protocol- based communications network that delivers full IP management features. The new P25 system complies with both the current P25 Phase 1 standard and the emerging P25 Phase 2 industry standards.

Ministry of Health emergency medical responders will be supported by Harris mobile and portable radios, including the M7300 mobile radio and the P5500 single-band portable radio. Designed for public safety and other mission-critical users, the M7300 mobile radio provides versatile and reliable communications to meet a range of requirements with multi-mode and dual-band functionality. The P5500 portable radio delivers sophisticated features in a lightweight, compact, resilient package.
